LANGUAGECERT Academic is an English language test for university admission, professional registration, and migration. It is produced by LANGUAGECERT, part of the PeopleCert Group, and is officially recognised by the Australian Department of Home Affairs, the UK Home Office for all UKVI SELT visas, Ireland's Department of Justice, the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and the Netherlands National Committee.
The test covers four skills — Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking — and is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), from A1 through C2.
LANGUAGECERT is available in two delivery modes: at an approved test centre, or online. Not every recognising body accepts the online mode — some government authorities and institutions require a test centre sitting. Always confirm which mode your university, professional body or immigration authority will accept before you book.
LANGUAGECERT International ESOL is a suite of English language qualifications designed for learners and professionals who want to demonstrate their general English proficiency for academic, professional, or personal purposes. The exams assess practical English communication skills used in everyday, educational, and workplace situations.
The qualifications are available at six individual CEFR levels, from A1 to C2: Preliminary (A1), Access (A2), Achiever (B1), Communicator (B2), Expert (C1), and Mastery (C2). Unlike LANGUAGECERT Academic, which is a multilevel test, International ESOL allows candidates to select and take the specific CEFR level that matches their ability or requirements.
The exam is divided into Written and Spoken components. The Written exam assesses Listening, Reading, and Writing, while the Spoken exam assesses Speaking. Candidates can take the two components together for a four-skills qualification or take them independently, depending on their needs. Exams are available through approved test centres and, for eligible exams, online.
